Attempts to create campaigns with advertising_channel_type SMART fail with SmartCampaignError.CREATION_FAILED (v24) or OperationAccessDeniedError.CREATE_OPERATION_NOT_PERMITTED (v23 and earlier) from September 23, 2026; existing Smart Campaigns can still be updated and keep serving. The start date was moved from August 5 to September 23, 2026 on August 13.
