Automatic upgrade of remaining Video Action Campaigns to Demand Gen began

Starting July 2025 Google began automatically converting existing Video Action Campaigns into Demand Gen campaigns, after removing the option to create new VACs in April 2025. Advertisers running YouTube conversion campaigns are moved to Demand Gen's multi-format inventory.
Google's help page timeline: April 2025 creation of new VACs removed; July 2025 automatic upgrades begin; December 2025 end dates cannot be extended beyond January 31, 2026; April 2026 final migration with any campaigns that cannot upgrade being deleted and recreated paused. Google claims Demand Gen delivers up to 20% more conversions at the same CPA.
