Content API for Shopping sunset announced for August 18, 2026

Alongside Merchant API general availability, Google announced that the Content API for Shopping would be shut down on August 18, 2026, giving merchants and platforms one year to migrate product, account, inventory and reporting integrations to the Merchant API.

PPC Land reports the deprecation was announced on August 18, 2025, exactly one year before shutdown; Google's Help Center page is dated only 'August 2025'. Manual uploads, scheduled fetches and Google Sheets feeds are not affected; only API-based integrations must migrate. Merchant API v1beta users had a separate deadline of February 28, 2026 to move to v1.
